"ALLIANCE ACHIEVES CHANGES" - NOVEMBER 2009
Although it has taken a "bit of pushing" it is quite encouraging to see the responses provided and steps forward we have been able to achieve for the Alliance and its goals. The emails from Alex McDonald outlining the Boards response in recognition of our requests are copied below:

Karen Hedger has asked me to respond on behalf of the board.
A link with the information on the F94L gene will be established in the “About the breed” section on the web as requested.

LIMLEX CONCERNS
Limousin Muscle Alliance
Karen Hedger has asked me to respond to your email on behalf of the board.
No Society funds have been put into the promotion of Lim-Flex cattle even though the facility to register Lim-Flex cattle does attract some revenue to ALBS from the small number of Lim-Flex cattle that are registered each year. ALBS will continue to provide the facility to register Lim-Flex cattle to ALBS members.

REQUEST FOR MUSCLE GENE SUFFIX TO BE ADDED TO ANIMAL REGISTATION
Limousin Muscle Alliance
At the board meeting on 7 November it was agreed to add a suffix OR words denoting the F94L status of tested animals or the progeny of two animals which carry two copies of the gene. Where a suffix is used the protocol will be AA for two copies, AC for one copy, CC for no copies and 2A for animals which are expected to have two copies by pedigree.
Please note that this may take a month or so to be implemented
